Congratulations To Alysha  | I once again have the honor of telling everyone that Ascended has a new member and the skies of nimbus have a new Administration by the name of Alysha! Congratulations Alysha on finding the path and joining the Ascended guild.
Now with that being said, I have high expectations that the community of Netstorm will welcome Alysha warmly, along with show her respect that anyone who rightly earned the position of administrator deserves. Alysha is here to enforce the rules and regulations of the Netstorm server, along with provide assistances and guidance to those who are in need. Alysha has full authorization to utilize force to resolve conflicts and my full support in any administrative action that she feels needs to be done.
Alysha is here to help the community as are all the game administrators so seek them out when you are in need but do not try and take advantage of them. I have seen in the last few days a few players being quite “abrasive” and outright abusive to our administrators and to other players. This type of behavior will not be tolerated and we will be implementing a server wide crack down on such behavior. You all have been warned!

A Sad day for Ascended | | I have the regrettable task of information everyone that one of our administrators Sarah has resigned her position in the Ascended guild.
We here at ascended are sad to see any of our members leave, however we understand that college life can be quite hectic and wish only the best for Sarah has she has been a valuable member of our guild and will be missed.
Goodbye Sarah, Best Wishes to you, and be sure to come back and visit us in the skies when you find free time!

Summary of Previous outages  | The server has been going up and down lately, and finely the root cause showed its ugly face a few weeks back. It appears that the cable modem was on its last leg of life, and finally decided to shut off and become a giant paper weight. The modem was replaced and the server has been operating without a hitch as of lately. Two Server outages to report | | Two Server outages to report,
On Sunday the server was down for a few hours because I accidently unplugged the router and failed to notice that the lights no longer were “blinking” woops.
On Monday the server was down because the DSN host decided to be cute and change the policy from we don’t care when you log into our website and review your free count to you must review your free account every 30 days else your account will be removed. Thus the server DSN was removed…. Luckily I was able to catch this issue and create a new account and retain our current DSN.

Auto Updater Issues | | All websites on the Netstorm HQ server have been going up and down lately. This in turn has causes some disruptions in the Auto Updating system when in turn is causing people to have a difficult time getting onto the Netstorm server. There is not a lot that can be done to address this issue at the moment as the AU software is in dire need of some updates to resolve the problem and people involved with managing the NSHQ site are currently investing the reasons behinds these minor outages and hopefully should have this issue resolved soon.
In light of all of this I would like to let the word out that the current AU system does not always utilize the backup server should the main server be down. There forth you will need to keep running the AU quite a few times typically less than 9 times to successfully connect to the backup server which will allow you to validate your copy and connect to the Netstorm server. We understand this is frustrating however improvements are in the work and this issue should be correctly by the next patch. So just keep trying in the event the main server is down again and hopefully you can hit the backup server.

Server Down Time | | Server went offline around 10 minutes this morning as the cable modem apparently shutoff for no apparent reason.
Expect some random server rests as some minor updates are applied to resolve some bugs tonight.

Ascended Guild News | | We regretfully announce that a sub ascended member Jobie has decided today to leave the Ascendedlet guild. We wish Jobie the best, as she is always welcome in our domain.
On the Brighter side of things, today we recognized and welcome Sarah as our new Ascendedlet member for she has taken the first steps in becoming a full ascended member. For the moment Sarah holds the Title of Ascendedlet however we are hopefully within the next few days that Sarah will pass the trail before her and become our 3rd server administrator. Further developments will be posted.

Website Modifications  | I removed a few links off the sidebar that linked to nowhere.
Currently a new page Development Humor dedicated to the patch development and beta test team is in the works, it should be online later tonight.
Beyond this Samhain is going to be working on cleaning up the rules list a bit, we know its kind ruff at the moment as it is only a draft copy.
More site content will be available as the day’s progress; we also expect some type of active interface with the server coming soon. Expect some type of logs wither it be people currently online, people who were last in battle or some type of online information about the server will be setup here at some point in time.

Server Hot Swap | | Today a temporary server was setup on another computer on our local LAN network and all incoming traffic was diverted from the main server to this temporary server to allow new cables to be run to the main server.
During this period of time users might have experienced confusion experiences as one second the zones were full and when they re logged found them to be emptied. Also users might have experienced sudden disconnects. This is a result of all traffic being diverted to the temporary server.
The main server was brought back online later this afternoon and everything is back to normal. This announcement was posted to inform all the users about the current server activities for the day. and to inform anyone who experienced odd things happening today on the server that this was most likely what was going on.
